I was a live-in caretaker for a developmentally disabled adult for my first year of school. I made this thinking about my roommate, who struggled through even the most "basic" tasks such as eating. He had to be reminded what he was doing every couple of minutes or else he would forget...

so, did you burn out and cast a plastic snake body, or fabricate the pieces in wax first?

It's the plastic snake body and a plastic fork. I've actually got the spoon and knife pieces, but the batch for thier bodies failed and I was never able to do another. Some day though I'm going to revisit this idea in silver for a whole set.

Thanks again. I became very close to Tom (we lived together for a year) and wanted to honor him in some way. And since his struggle is such a part of him, it seemed appropriate.
